Initial Design Prototyping

Research Mood Boards:

This is some research on all three of the fictional design briefs to show my visual exploration. However I ultimately designed the Eco Future brand grabbed my interest the most and made me inspired to explore different elements, such as sustainability.

Eco-Future Focused Style Board:

This is my focused style board on Eco Future. I gathered further, detailed information from other websites, which also helped me create my initial colour palette draft for my own brand. By gathering this inspiration, I was able to gage what would suit the brand’s online presence. This begins to highlight how my research and visual references are informing and justifying my design direction. Ultimately, this has created a more refined creative direction for the Eco-Future brand which I intend to carry forward into the next stage.

My Idea: Drink Mix Powders (Zero-Waste Beverages):

These are powdered drink mixes, for example iced tea, electrolyte drinks, natural juice blends etc, that people mix with water at home. Moreover, the eco benefit is it reduces plastic bottles and shipping weight. This supports sustainability as it has compostable packaging, low carbon footprint, and no preservatives. Some benefits of an eco-friendly brand are it will “Reduce toxic waste”, “It’s better for the planet, people and animals”, and ‘”Your business will enjoy a positive reputation”. (Figure 1)

User Personas:

I created these user personas to understand the main users of an eco-friendly brand which is what I will be focusing on. I will use the brands eco-friendly element as a key marketing concept.

Brand Personality and Matrix:

I’ve created a brand personality and brand matrix, which helped me start brainstorming the ideas for the brand (the logo design will be explained further on the next page). I ultimately decided to call my brand ‘Pure Sip’ because ‘Pure’ builds an element of trust and links to the eco-friendly element, and then ‘Sip’ clearly links to drinking. I believe it’s a short but sweet name. Moreover, I’m passionate on creating an eco-friendly brand which encourages users to think about what they’re purchasing more often. On the other hand, I also want to think about accessibility throughout my brand by using large, clear text and fairly simplistic language and layouts etc.
